THE INAUGURAL WELDING WORLD AWARDS

The voting is over, and in the New Year the results will be revealed. 

We are extremely delighted to announce that Rapid Welding and Industrial Supplies Ltd have been nominated for FIVE Welding World Awards in the inaugural Welding World Awards 2016.

The Welding World Awards are the first of their kind and are international, impartial, independent awards that can be won by anyone involved in the welding business.

The aim is to recognise and applaud the stars of our industry.

What makes us most proud is that it is our customers who have nominated us into the position of possibly being announced as one of the winners at the Gala Awards Dinner being held on Wednesday, 13 April 2016 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel.

I can't believe two whole years have past since our first exhibition at MACH - which also happened to be Rapid's first exhibition EVER! And once more, this coming April, we're at it again in Birmingham, only this year we're bigger and better than ever.

2014 started with a bit of bang for the Rapid team, and if you follow our blog you'll already know why. First there was the new addition of Rapid Marine back in 2013, then came the great news that Rapid was increasing yet again with the acquisiton of Bryant Welderental. Things have been going great guns, and we can't wait to get to MACH this year to spread the word about the services our ever expanding family now offers.

MACH is the 'UK’s largest event for Manufacturing Technologies', showcasing the advancements made in the manufacturing industry. With 20,000 visitors from the UK and overseas anticipated, and with over 500 exhibitors, not to mention an insightful seminar programme running throughout the week, the five day event is sure to be an exciting, busy and worthwhile time for everyone.

Once more, the Rapid stand will be sited in the Welding World Village, which is hosted by the AWD (Association of Welding Distribution) - the team will be on stand 4921e. There's a write up and site plan of the Welding World Village in the February edition of Welding World Magazine out now, and don't forget to look out for further updates about which products we'll be featuring during the week.

The team at Rapid would like to thank the organisers of the AWD for putting together another fun-filled and memorable weekend. Yet again we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

A Mere Twenty Years Behind Her Majesty! 

Next month marks the AWD's (Association of Welding Distribution) annual AGM, but this year will be a joint celebration.

2013 marks the 40th Anniversary of the AWD, and with a weekend invitation to London to soak up the sights and sounds and enjoy some business, it's certainly going to be celebrated in style. The AGM, usually held in April, is an interesting, fun, and informative weekend for those who attend, and is a regular date marked on Rapid's calendar. It brings the opportunity to network with other professionals within the industry as well as enjoy the social, family orientated side of things too. For Rapid, there will be another reason to raise a glass and don our party hats at the event, because we'll be fresh from celebrating our wonderful company's 23rd Birthday, which takes place on 1st April.

We're No-one's April Fool! 

    Rapid has long since been involved with the AWD and for many years has been a member of the organisation, supporting its mission to raise the voice of welding and promote high professional standards. The AWD is committed to representing 'products and services fairly and honestly so that no one be deceived as to the nature, quality, and fitness of the products for their purpose', which fits the Rapid ethos perfectly. The association has continued to grow and develop over the years and, with good hands holding the reins, is better than ever before.
