Firstly, here's a huge Rapid Welding bear hug for those of you visiting our blog and showing your support to our wonderful group of companies based here on the UK's south coast.  We may be down here on our little island, but our customer base stretches worldwide.

This blog focuses on RentArc, part of the Rapid Welding Group specialising in the hire of welding equipment. The quality of products, value for money, great deals and personable service our customers expect from Rapid Welding, they can also expect from RentArc. It's also safe to say our rental fleet consists of the very best welding equipment available in the market place, and after every hire our machines are serviced and validated by our very own industry professionals before going out again, ensuring they arrive at your site in pristine working order to commence work without delay.

This is our promise to you: RentArc will keep your welders welding.

We mentioned earlier in the month that RentArc was having an incredible August regarding numbers of hire purchases leaving the depot.

Damian Bryant of RentArc said, "We're really pleased about the numbers, especially as it's 'out of season' for many of our key clients who are in the ship repair industry. You see, most ships do the bulk of their work between early spring and late autumn, and tend to get their repairs done when the weather isn't so good. So despite the time of year, many of these clients have kept busy during the lean time."

Some of our rental fleet was used in the construction of Red Jet 7 on the Isle of Wight!

And it's not just the ship repair industry we hire out to, although being based near Southampton and Portsmouth Docks puts us right on the pulse of that! In fact, RentArc's clients operate in a broad range of other industries including oil and gas, power generation (power plants tend to have their shutdown periods during the summer months), process pipework, rail infrastructure, not to mention general fabricators.  Another range of customers we're very pleased to support include bespoke luxury kitchen and wine cellar installation companies in Central London, and we also have machines way down in the West Country, South Wales, Kent and East Anglia.  All in all, we're very pleased to report that most of our clients seem very busy right now!

When asked why the rental market was proving so popular, Damian replied, "Our customers return to RentArc because they trust us to supply the correct advice concerning the choice of equipment. They trust that the equipment is reliable and 'ready to weld'. They trust it will be delivered on time to the correct location. They trust they will be billed fairly." Basically, if you deal with RentArc, you know you can trust us every time to “keep your welders welding”.

Another busy day in the life of RentArc!

Rapid Marine - Bringing something new to the industry

by Rapid Welding 24. September 2013 07:57

Rapid Marine was officially launched in July this year, bringing to market adjustable lifting slings and stainless steel 316 ratchet strap kits especially designed for tenders.

For all of us who have experienced the joy of getting slings made in wire, only to find they don't fit as well as you would like, these slings are a godsend as each leg is fully adjustable.

Mike Evers at Rapid Marine developed the system a few years ago, and has been supplying the likes of Williams Performance Tender, Princess Motor Yachts and Sunseeker Sales UK to name but a few.  Mike's knowledge is often called upon by boat owners and retailers seeking advice on anything to do with lifting and securing a tender, and so he really knows his stuff and understands what people need.

Using our unique adjustable buckle, our slings fit 99% of all tender regardless of the lifting equipment on your boat

With competitive prices, experienced product knowledge and customer service, Rapid Marine is fast becoming the market leader for this type of product, and the web site presents the range of products in such a way/format that selecting the correct sling is based on the lifting equipment on your boat, not your tender.

check out the Davit Sling Calculator Chart on the Davit Sling page.

The best three words to describe Rapid Marine products are: Certified, Adjustable and Quality.

Tie down kits are manufactured using 316 stainless steel ratchets and 25mm polyester webbing.

Slings are available in a variety of sizes to meet your individual requirements, and we also offer a bespoke service for when off the shelf just won't do.

Sling Kit at a Glance:

  • Simple fitting instructions
  • Certificate of conformity
  • All stainless 316 fittings
  • Storage bag
  • Manufactured in the UK

  • Certified to EU Safety Standards

Since July, the team at Rapid Marine have been busy. Launching at the PSP Southampton Boat Show this year - thanks to BHG Marine and Zodiac who kindly incorporated the Rapid Marine display on their stand - it was great to see the range so well received.

A Bet Honoured!

by Rapid Welding 28. May 2013 11:54

At Rapid HQ we like to do what we say and say what we do, so when two of our colleagues, Logan and Kay, decided to make life interesting and have a wager on who would finish higher in their respective football leagues, Portsmouth & Southampton, the stakes were fairly high to win.

When the season finally came to a close, Southampton were placed 13th in the premier league while Portsmouth were rooted to the bottom of the Npower Division 1 league in 24th Place.

And the prize for losing?

Logan had to wear a Southampton shirt at work for the day.

Suck it up, man, suck it up!
