RentArc Keeps Your Welders Welding

by Rapid Welding 17. August 2018 12:11

Firstly, here's a huge Rapid Welding bear hug for those of you visiting our blog and showing your support to our wonderful group of companies based here on the UK's south coast.  We may be down here on our little island, but our customer base stretches worldwide.

This blog focuses on RentArc, part of the Rapid Welding Group specialising in the hire of welding equipment. The quality of products, value for money, great deals and personable service our customers expect from Rapid Welding, they can also expect from RentArc. It's also safe to say our rental fleet consists of the very best welding equipment available in the market place, and after every hire our machines are serviced and validated by our very own industry professionals before going out again, ensuring they arrive at your site in pristine working order to commence work without delay.

This is our promise to you: RentArc will keep your welders welding.

We mentioned earlier in the month that RentArc was having an incredible August regarding numbers of hire purchases leaving the depot.

Damian Bryant of RentArc said, "We're really pleased about the numbers, especially as it's 'out of season' for many of our key clients who are in the ship repair industry. You see, most ships do the bulk of their work between early spring and late autumn, and tend to get their repairs done when the weather isn't so good. So despite the time of year, many of these clients have kept busy during the lean time."

Some of our rental fleet was used in the construction of Red Jet 7 on the Isle of Wight!

And it's not just the ship repair industry we hire out to, although being based near Southampton and Portsmouth Docks puts us right on the pulse of that! In fact, RentArc's clients operate in a broad range of other industries including oil and gas, power generation (power plants tend to have their shutdown periods during the summer months), process pipework, rail infrastructure, not to mention general fabricators.  Another range of customers we're very pleased to support include bespoke luxury kitchen and wine cellar installation companies in Central London, and we also have machines way down in the West Country, South Wales, Kent and East Anglia.  All in all, we're very pleased to report that most of our clients seem very busy right now!

When asked why the rental market was proving so popular, Damian replied, "Our customers return to RentArc because they trust us to supply the correct advice concerning the choice of equipment. They trust that the equipment is reliable and 'ready to weld'. They trust it will be delivered on time to the correct location. They trust they will be billed fairly." Basically, if you deal with RentArc, you know you can trust us every time to “keep your welders welding”.

Another busy day in the life of RentArc!

“Plymovent cares about the air you breathe."

by Rapid Welding 19. April 2018 14:14

“Plymovent cares about the air you breathe."

Let's face it, clean air is something most of us take for granted, and sometimes we forget how vitally important it is in industries such as welding, construction and engineering, where invisible air pollutants like welding fumes, dust and oil mist can have very serious implications on our health following daily exposure.

Well, fortunately, clean air is something we care about, and so too is creating safe working and operationally efficient environments for businesses and individuals in our industry. Awareness about indoor air quality is widely growing, and whether you are a small one-man-band or multi million pound business, it is imperative to protect yourself and your team from health issues arising from unsafe work spaces.

Last week at MACH, Rapid Welding joined Plymovent at the NEC Birmingham to launch www.PlymoventDirect.com, a one stop online platform for systems and services providing valuable extraction and filtration of polluted indoor air.

MACH was a great venue for the launch, with over 600 companies exhibiting the latest products, services and technology within the UK manufacturing and engineering industries, and a wide, relevant audience whom we were able to demonstrate how to achieve a significantly cleaner, safer and healthier workplace to.

“Plymovent cares about the air you breathe. We offer products, systems and services which ensure clean air at work, anywhere in the world. We respect the environment and we deliver high-quality products. Our expertise gained over many years and our genuine commitment to customer requirements enable us to provide precisely the solutions you need.”

We can supply mobile fume extractors, extraction arms, stationary filter units, control equipment, flexhood, filters and spare parts, and our dedicated team are available to offer product support and technical advice.

Visit Plymovent Direct, and see how we can help you achieve clean air.

CECAMM - The New Centre of Excellence

Welding Bays at CECAMM

Opened by HRH The Countess of Wessex in September last year, the exciting Isle of Wight College CECAMM facility in Whippingham offers students specialised education and a broad experience of engineering skills. The aim is to prepare students to enter their chosen field, help secure careers, and in some cases go on to higher study.

Located at the Island Technology Park, the world class training facility includes workshops and classrooms for study programmes such as Boat Construction and Design, CNC Programming, Fabrication, Marine Engineering and MIG, MAG and TIG Welding, and it was for the latter programme that the college purchased six new Kemppi welding machines from Rapid.

Kemppi MasterTig 3003 MLS AC/DC

Having heard about Rapid through an existing customer based on the Isle of Wight, the order for three Kemppi FastMig X, and three Kemppi MLS 3003 AC/DC Tig for CECAMM soon followed, as well as further orders for PPE and consumables.

Welding Lecturer at CECAMM, Chris Wright said, "We are very pleased with the welding equipment supplied by Rapid Welding. The equipment is easy to use and it's always good to have industry standard equipment for the learners. I am very impressed with the level of help and support we have received from Rapid Welding. It's all good :)."

With close ties to the Isle of Wight and a strong customer base, we are delighted to have had the opportunity to supply CECAMM with welding machines and equipment for this project. As a company, Rapid strives to bring our customers the products they really want, combined with the most up-to-date technology in the industry. This enables businesses as well as individual welders to safeguard quality and productivity, and in this case, will allow the future generation of welders and engineers to develop their skills with the most current equipment available, helping them prepare for the future and hopefully successful and rewarding careers.

They will certainly have an excellent start at CECAMM!

Tim Peake; An Extraordinary Journey- Inspiring the next generation into 'thinking big'!

by Rapid Welding 23. December 2016 17:06

Roy & Marianne Edwards with Lynn Willacy from Air Products

When a representative from Air Products contacted Rapid asking if we’d like to be part of a space adventure of astronomical proportions, naturally we jumped at the opportunity no questions asked!

Most people have heard of the name Tim Peake. Well, if you’re harbouring secret desires to follow in his intergalactic footsteps and have your very own space odyssey (like we clearly are), then you might be interested in visiting the newly launched exhibition at The Novium Museum in Chichester - Tim Peake; An Extraordinary Journey.

An excellent occasion to bring the two businesses together.

Air Products is one of the world's largest Industrial Gas companies, and a Strategic Sponsor for the exhibition. As an Air Products agent offering a full range of Industrial Gases and cylinder gas solutions, and a local agent to Chichester where the exhibition is being held, we were very excited to receive the invitation from Air Products to support them during the launch which took place this week to coincide with the first anniversary of Tim’s take-off.

"We have been helping launch astronauts into space for the last 50 years. Since Tim's own extraordinary journey ended, his aim has been to encourage children to think about the importance of science, technology engineering and mathematics. We are really pleased to be involved in this exhibition and we hope it will inspire the next generation and be the launch pad for many more extraordinary journeys in the future."

Air Products.

The exhibition allows would-be explorers to embark on a space mission, following Tim Peake's very own astronomical adventure. Starting with a 'rocket lift', transporting occupants into outer space, the exhibition aims to encourage and inspire young people to consider careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), and to think ‘big’ about their futures. From blasting into outer space and finding out about Tim’s Space Walk, to experiencing what it’s like to eat, sleep and work in an International Space Station, it’s certainly going to inspire and ignite. It’s a project we are very proud to offer our support to.

“It was a great pleasure to meet Mr Peake Senior, Tim’s Dad (Nigel Peake is part of the project group pulling the exhibition together) and see the obvious pride he has in his son’s achievements and the joint passion they share for encouraging and educating our future Astronauts, Engineers and Welders. Inspiring future generations is also an ideology both Rapid Welding and Air Products have shared throughout their years in the Gas Industry.”
